# Full record for one dataset

`GET /v1/datasets/{dataset_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.stackdata.io`
- URL: `https://api.stackdata.io/v1/datasets/{dataset_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - none
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

The full provenance envelope for a single dataset: publisher, cadence, status,
distribution and licence. A missing id is a `404` — **absent is not an empty success.**
