# Register a device and receive a signed license token

`POST /v1/device/register`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sqai.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.sqai.com/v1/device/register`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Called by `algenta login`. Registers the calling machine under the API key, checks the plan's device limit, and returns a signed JWT device license stored locally by the SDK. Re-registering the same device (same device_id) refreshes the license.
