# Update the subject and/or description of a WhatsApp group (asynchronous)

`POST /v2/groups/{id}/settings`

## Request

Asks Meta to update the group settings. Meta only acknowledges the request; the authoritative per-field result arrives on the group_settings_update webhook, which persists successes. The response carries the current (pre-update) conversation — clients should update optimistically and reconcile on the webhook-driven groupSettingsUpdate socket event.

  - `subject` string: New group subject (trimmed, 1-128 characters).
  - `description` string: New group description (trimmed, up to 2048 characters). An empty string clears the description.
