# Send a message to the chat assistant

`POST /v1/chat/conversations/{id}/messages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sprixen.com`
- URL: `https://api.sprixen.com/v1/chat/conversations/{id}/messages`
- Auth: `bearer` (a scheme the document does not define)

Sends a user message (text and/or image) to Gemini, executes any tool calls, and returns the assistant response. Accepts multipart/form-data or JSON (text-only). May take several seconds.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `content` string: Message text (optional when image is provided)
  - `image` string, binary: Optional image attachment (PNG/JPEG/WebP/GIF, max 5 MB)

## Response `201`

Assistant message returned

## Other responses

- `400`: No text or image provided
- `403`: Access denied
- `404`: Conversation not found
