# Detect what is behind a URL

`POST /v1/connectors/detect`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.spacefast.com`
- URL: `https://api.spacefast.com/v1/connectors/detect`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://api.spacefast.com/v1/auth/oauth2/authorize`, token URL `https://api.spacefast.com/v1/auth/oauth2/token`; client credentials, token URL `https://api.spacefast.com/v1/auth/oauth2/token`, scopes: `connectors:write`)

Runs every plugin's detector against a pasted URL and returns the candidates it recognized, most confident first. The URL to register may not be the URL that was pasted.

## Query parameters

- `team` string: Team id or slug to act for. Required only when the credential could act for more than one team.

## Request body

- object
  - `url` string, uri, required: Any URL a service published. Every plugin's detector gets a look at it.

Response for status 200

  - `$schema` string, uri: Canonical JSON Schema URL for this response body. The server also sends it in the `Link: rel="describedby"` response header.
  - `data` object[], required
    - `kind` 'openapi' | 'graphql' | 'mcp', required: Source kind this candidate would register as.
    - `confidence` 'high' | 'medium' | 'low', required: How sure the detector is. Ranked highest first.
    - `endpoint` string, uri, required: The URL to register, which may not be the URL that was pasted.
    - `title` string, required: Name the source calls itself.
    - `slug` string, required: Suggested slug, already checked against the team's connectors.
    - `presetId` string, nullable, required: Catalog row this resolved to, when the paste matched a known service.

## Other responses

- `default`: Problem details (RFC 9457). Any 4xx/5xx response is one `application/problem+json` document.
