# Open a commitment ($0.02)

`GET /v1/reveal`

Verifies that a preimage hashes to what was sealed and returns a signed statement. A MISMATCH IS ALSO SIGNED, naming both the committed hash and the hash of what was produced, so an honest party can prove the other side changed its answer — that is a 200 with matches=false, not an error. A commitment altered after issue is rejected as commitment_not_ours.
