# Stop a stream

`DELETE /v1/streams/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sonovault.now`
- URL: `https://api.sonovault.now/v1/streams/{id}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Stop monitoring a stream. Billing for it stops at the end of the current period. Idempotent.

**Requires a paid plan**: the free tier returns `403` for this endpoint.

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful response

- object
  - `ok` boolean, required: Always `true`. The call is idempotent, so stopping an already-stopped stream also returns `true`.
