# Mcp Create Project Task

`POST /v1/mcp/projects/{project_id}/tasks`

File a task on the project's todo list (mcp:*). Attributed to your agent, so
the human sees who raised it. Pass a `dedupe_key` (e.g. per language) so a
re-run updates the same card. Idempotent on an open `dedupe_key`. `link_to`
records a follow-up link back to the task it came from.

  - `type` string, required: Task type slug, e.g. `translation.validate` or `code_analysis.classify_props`. An unknown type is accepted; a known one supplies the default title, audience and deep-link.
  - `title` string, nullable: Human-readable one-liner; defaults from the type catalogue.
  - `detail` string, nullable
  - `payload` object, nullable: Structured link the task points at, e.g. {"language_code": "ru", "key_uuids": [...]}.
  - `count` integer, nullable: Size of the work, e.g. 10 for "10 keys to translate".
  - `deep_link` string, nullable
  - `severity` string, nullable
  - `dedupe_key` string, nullable: Idempotency key for a (type, scope) task — re-filing the same key while it is still open refreshes its count/title instead of stacking a duplicate. E.g. "translate:ru".
  - `assignee_user_uuid` string, nullable: Assign the task to a specific project member. Usually leave null and let the type route it to the right audience (dev/translator/reviewer/…).
  - `link_to` string, nullable: Link this new task to an existing one (its uuid or #number). Use it for a FOLLOW-UP: when finishing a task surfaces out-of-scope or downstream work, file the new task with link_to set to the current one so both are navigable.
  - `link_note` string, nullable: Why the two are linked, e.g. "out of scope for #14, split off here".
