# Request a signed URL to upload a file

`POST /uploads`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://developer.solofire.com/v1`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Requires the `content.write` scope.

## Request body

- object
  - `filename` string, required: File name including extension, e.g. "deck.pptx".
  - `library_id` string, required: Library to upload into. See GET /v1/libraries.
  - `name` string: Display name shown in SoloFire. Defaults to the filename without its extension.
  - `folder_id` string: Optional folder to link the file into. Must be in the same library.
  - `content_type` string: MIME type. Sent as the Content-Type header when you PUT the bytes.
  - `size_bytes` integer: Size in bytes. Rejected up front if it exceeds the slot maximum (500 MB, or 2 GiB with large_file).
  - `large_file` boolean: Set true to raise this slot's ceiling from 500 MB to 2 GiB. Default false.

## Other responses

- `401`: `unauthorized` No credential was presented. `invalid_token` The API key is unknown, revoked or malformed. `token_expired` The API key has passed its expiry.
- `403`: `insufficient_scope` The credential does not carry the required scope. `forbidden` The member this credential acts as lacks the permission. `feature_not_enabled` API access is not enabled for this company.
- `405`: `method_not_allowed` The path exists but not for this method.
- `409`: `conflict` The request conflicts with the current state.
- `413`: `payload_too_large` The request body is too large.
- `422`: `validation_failed` A parameter or body field is invalid.
- `429`: `rate_limited` The credential is over its request budget.
- `500`: `internal_error` Something went wrong on our side.
