# Update a user in SocialBee

`PATCH /user/update`

## Request body

- UpdateUser
  - `id` integer: The SocialBee user Id
  - `email` string, required: The email address of the user
  - `first_name` string: The first name of the user
  - `last_name` string: The last name of the user
  - `company` string, required: The name of the user's company. This will also be the name of the default workspace when the account is created
  - `company_id` string: The id of the company. This is used when you want to add a user to an existing workspace. (i.e. if you have already created an account and want to add another user to that account)
  - `plan_id` string, required: The code of the license to be applied to the user's account
  - `in_trial` boolean, required: Whether the account will be in trial (a 14 day trial is offered to the user and if no updates to the user is offered, then that account is canceled)
  - `role_type` string, required: The role that the user will have in the workspace. Can be either "admin" or "user". An admin will be added as a Workspace Manager while a user will be added as a Workspace Contributor (without any rights to publish content on social media or manage social profiles)
  - `status` string: The status of the user; possible values: active, inactive
