# Update a signature

`PATCH /signatures/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.sociahive.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://www.sociahive.com/api/v1/signatures/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `/api/oauth/authorize`, token URL `/api/oauth/token`, scopes: `posts:write`)

Send any of the create fields. Behind the SCHEDULER_SIGNATURES feature flag (403 `feature_disabled` while off).

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required: MongoDB ObjectId (24-character hex string)

## Request body

- UpdateSignatureRequest
  - `name` string
  - `text` string
  - `account_ids` union: Default `"all"`.
    - 'all'
    - string[]
  - `is_default` boolean: Default false. Saving a default turns off the defaults it would compete with.

    - `text` string, required: Appended after a blank line at publish.

    - `is_default` boolean, required: Added to every post on its accounts unless the post picks another signature or `none`. A default for one account wins over a default for all.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request — invalid parameters
- `401`: Authentication required — provide X-API-Key or Bearer token
- `403`: Insufficient scope for this operation
- `404`: Signature not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
