# Find the next free posting slot

`GET /find-slot`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.sociahive.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://www.sociahive.com/api/v1/find-slot`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `/api/oauth/authorize`, token URL `/api/oauth/token`, scopes: `posts:read`)

The earliest posting slot of these accounts in the next 60 days where none of them has a scheduled post within 5 minutes. The slot is held for 10 minutes; create the post with `scheduled_at` = `at` to keep it.

## Query parameters

- `account_ids` string, required: Comma-separated connected-account ids.
- `after` string, date-time: Only slots after this time. Default: now.

Next free slot

- object
  - `success` true, required
  - `data` FreeSlot, required
    - `at` string, date-time, required: The slot instant (UTC).
    - `slot_id` string, required: MongoDB ObjectId (24-character hex string)
    - `timezone` string, required: The slot's zone.
    - `reserved_until` string, date-time, required: The slot is held for this caller until then (10 minutes), so concurrent requests get different slots. A post saved at `at` keeps it after that.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request — invalid parameters
- `401`: Authentication required — provide X-API-Key or Bearer token
- `403`: Insufficient scope for this operation
- `404`: No posting slots for these accounts (`no_slots`), or none free in 60 days (`no_free_slot`)
- `409`: Another request is picking a slot for these accounts; retry
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal server error
