# Update internal linking settings

`PUT /v3/site-linking/settings`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.snowseo.com`
- URL: `https://api.snowseo.com/v3/site-linking/settings`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `x-api-key`

Changes how the internal link analysis behaves; send only the fields to change. The current values are in `settings` from internal_link_analysis. Applies from the next analysis. To change a page's topic or make it a pillar, use set_internal_link_page_topic. Free.

## Request body

- object
  - `teamId` string, required: SnowSEO team ID. Call list_teams first to choose a team.
  - `minConfidence` number: Suggestions below this confidence are dropped.
  - `maxLinksPerPage` integer: Most new links suggested on one page.
  - `excludedSourcePatterns` string[]: Page addresses never analyzed. A * matches anything, e.g. '*/tag/*'.
  - `excludedTargetPatterns` string[]: Page addresses no suggested link may point to. A * matches anything.
  - `regroupTopics` boolean: True sorts every page into topic groups again on each whole-site analysis. False (the default) leaves pages that already have a group where they are and only sorts the rest. A page placed with set_internal_link_page_topic is never moved either way.
