# Change a member's role or billing access

`PATCH /v1/team/members/{id}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Send role, can_manage_billing, or both. Owners and admins can change roles under the same rules as the Members page (an admin cannot touch an owner, a team keeps at least one owner). Only an owner can change billing access. The member gets an email when their role changes. Requires the team:manage scope.
