# Create a manual suppression

`POST /v1/suppressions`

Manually suppress an address so future sends to it are blocked: every send by default, or marketing email only with scope marketing.

## Request body

- CreateSuppressionRequest
  - `email` string, email, required
  - `reason` 'manual'
  - `scope` 'all' | 'marketing': all blocks every send to the address. marketing blocks marketing email only, like a recipient's own unsubscribe. An address already on the list keeps its suppression, except that scope all turns a marketing-only one into a manual suppression of every send.
  - `diagnostic_code` string: Optional internal note for manual suppressions

A manual suppression is all unless it was created with scope marketing.

## Other responses
