# Retrieve an inbox

`GET /v1/inboxes/{inbox_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://smtpfa.st/api`
- URL: `https://smtpfa.st/api/v1/inboxes/{inbox_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

One inbox by id or by its email address. Requires the inbound:read scope.

- `inbox_id` string, required

## Response `200`

The inbox

- Inbox

  - `id` string
  - `name` string
  - `email_address` string
  - `domain_id` string
  - `receiving_address` unknown
  - `from_name` string, nullable
  - `unread` integer: Threads in the inbox folder with at least one unread message
  - `drafts` integer: Unsent drafts
  - `last_received` string, date-time, nullable: When a thread in this inbox was last active
  - `created_at` string, date-time

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid or missing API key
- `403`: Forbidden - domain not verified or insufficient permissions
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - retry after the period indicated in the Retry-After header
- `500`: Internal server error
