# Delete an inbox

`DELETE /v1/inboxes/{inbox_id}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Delete the inbox with its threads, labels and drafts. Received messages stay in GET /v1/emails/receiving until the 30-day retention removes them, and the address keeps receiving, because receiving belongs to the domain. Requires the domain:write scope on a key created by a team owner or admin.

- `401`: Invalid or missing API key
- `403`: Forbidden - domain not verified or insufficient permissions
- `404`: Resource not found
