# Cancel a scheduled email

`POST /v1/emails/{id}/cancel`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Cancel an email that has not been sent yet. Valid while the email is scheduled or queued; returns 409 once it has left for the provider. Requires the email:send scope.

- `401`: Invalid or missing API key
- `403`: Forbidden - domain not verified or insufficient permissions
- `404`: Resource not found
- `409`: The email is past the point where it can be canceled
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - retry after the period indicated in the Retry-After header
- `500`: Internal server error
