# Get the claim record for a domain

`GET /v1/domains/claim`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://smtpfa.st/api`
- URL: `https://smtpfa.st/api/v1/domains/claim`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

The TXT record a team publishes to prove DNS control before claiming a domain another account added but never verified. 404 when nobody holds the domain, 409 with code already_yours or verified_elsewhere when it cannot be claimed. Requires the domain:read scope.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - check your payload
- `401`: Invalid or missing API key
- `403`: Forbidden - domain not verified or insufficient permissions
- `404`: Resource not found
- `409`: Conflict - the resource already exists or changed meanwhile
- `500`: Internal server error
