# Verify a domain

`POST /v1/domains/{id}/verify`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://smtpfa.st/api`
- URL: `https://smtpfa.st/api/v1/domains/{id}/verify`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Check whether the required DNS records have been configured correctly. If verification succeeds, the domain status changes to verified and it can be used for sending.

  - `mail_from_domain` string, nullable
  - `ses_configured` boolean
  - `dkim_check_restarted` boolean: True when the email provider had stopped checking DKIM and this request restarted the check.
  - `message` string

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid or missing API key
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - retry after the period indicated in the Retry-After header
- `500`: Internal server error
