# Get domain details

`GET /v1/domains/{id}`

Retrieve details for a single domain including its current verification status and DNS records.

Domain details

- Domain: POST /v1/domains returns id, domain, status, dns_records and created_at. GET /v1/domains/{id} adds the verification detail, a live DNS check of each record and the receiving settings.

    - `available` boolean: The team's plan includes inbound email
    - `eligible` boolean: The domain can turn receiving on

    - `purpose` string: DKIM authentication, SPF authorization, DMARC policy, MAIL FROM bounce delivery, MAIL FROM SPF or Inbound mail
    - `category` 'verification' | 'sending' | 'receiving'
    - `actual_value` string, nullable: GET /v1/domains/{id} only: what DNS answers now, several values joined with " | "
    - `live_check` 'match' | 'mismatch' | 'missing' | 'needs_include' | 'multiple_spf_records' | 'invalid_spf' | 'null', nullable: GET /v1/domains/{id} only: how the live value compares with the expected one. Null for the inbound MX record.
    - `actualValue` string, nullable: Same as actual_value, for older clients
    - `liveCheck` string, nullable: Same as live_check, for older clients
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required
  - `last_checked_at` string, date-time, nullable

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid or missing API key
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded - retry after the period indicated in the Retry-After header
- `500`: Internal server error
