# Export a machine.

`POST /v1/machines/{id}/export`

## Request

Packs the machine's filesystem and pushes it to the registry as a reusable artifact. Requires the `machine:create` scope.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `200`

Machine exported to the registry as an artifact

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Key lacks the required scope
- `404`: Not found
- `429`: Rate limited; retry after the Retry-After header
- `500`: Internal error
