# Get the card on file.

`GET /v1/billing/card`

## Request

Returns the brand, last four digits and expiry of the card the account's plan fee and auto top-ups are charged to. Requires the `usage:read` or `machine:read` scope.

## Response `200`

The card on file

- CardOnFile: Opt-in saved-card auto-recharge settings (`GET`/`POST /v1/billing/auto-recharge`). The card on file: what the account's plan fee and auto top-ups are charged to, as Stripe describes it. Never the number itself.
  - `brand` string, required: Card network, e.g. `visa`, `mastercard`, `amex`.
  - `expMonth` integer, required
  - `expYear` integer, required
  - `last4` string, required: Last four digits.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Key lacks the required scope
- `404`: No card on file, or card payments are not enabled
- `429`: Rate limited; retry after the Retry-After header
- `500`: Internal error
- `502`: The payment provider did not answer
