# Apply promotion to subscription

`POST /subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/promotions/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smokeball.com`
- URL: `https://api.smokeball.com/subscriptions/{subscriptionId}/promotions/{id}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key` and API key in header `Authorization`

Applies a promotion to a subscription.

Important considerations:
* Some promotions may have redemption limits per subscription
* Some promotions may have duration limits
* Signup promotions cannot be applied to an existing subscription
* Trial promotions are tied to a single tier or add-on

## Path parameters

- `subscriptionId` string, required
- `id` string, uuid, required

## Response `202`

When request is accepted. Returns a 'Link' object.

## Other responses

- `400`: When an unsupported request is made.
- `404`: When subscription or promotion with specified id does not exist.
- `500`: When an error occurs while applying promotion.
