# Remove a layout

`DELETE /matters/{matterId}/layouts/{itemId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smokeball.com`
- URL: `https://api.smokeball.com/matters/{matterId}/layouts/{itemId}`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key` and API key in header `Authorization`

Removes a layout matter item from a matter.

## Path parameters

- `matterId` string, uuid, required
- `itemId` string, uuid, required

## Response `202`

When request is accepted.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: When the matter or a layout item with the specified ID does not exist.
- `503`: Service Unavailable
