# Get file history on a matter

`GET /matters/{matterId}/documents/files/{fileId}/history`

Returns the full list of history entries for the specified file. The result is not paged.

When request is successful. Returns a collection of 'FileFolderLogEntry' objects.

    - `timestamp` string, date-time — When the client recorded the action (UTC).

    - `newMatterId` string, nullable — New matter identifier (for move/copy across matters).
    - `oldFolderId` string, nullable — Previous folder identifier (for move within/between matters).
    - `newFolderId` string, nullable — New folder identifier (for move within/between matters).
    - `copySourceFileId` string, nullable — For copy operations, the source file's identifier when copying a file.
    - `copySourceFolderId` string, nullable — For copy operations, the source folder's identifier when copying a folder.
    - `documentVersionId` string, nullable — Identifier of the document version involved (only for version replace/revert scenarios). Can be used to download particular file versions.
    - `userId` string, nullable — Unique identifier of the user who is responsible for this change.

## Other responses

- `400` — When a supplied id is not a valid GUID.
