# Activate webhook subscription.

`PUT /subscriptions/{id}/activation`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smartrecruiters.com/webhooks-api/v201907`
- URL: `https://api.smartrecruiters.com/webhooks-api/v201907/subscriptions/{id}/activation`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-smarttoken`
  - OAuth 2
    - Authorization code: `https://www.smartrecruiters.com/identity/oauth/allow`
    - Token URL: `https://api.smartrecruiters.com/identity/oauth/token` scopes: `webhooks_write`, `webhooks_manage`

To ensure that the target server is ready to consume notifications, we require you to implement the initial
handshake.

Having subscription with `callbackUrl`: `https://example.org/hook`, during activation we will make `POST`
request with `X-Hook-Secret` header:

X-Hook-Secret: 4jn8fs9011jj8
```

We expect your server to respond within the time of 20 seconds with HTTP `200` response containing
`X-Hook-Secret` header with the same value.

## Response `204`

Subscription activated.

## Other responses

- `404`: Subscription not found.
- `409`: Subscription already activated.
- `424`: Webhook activation handshake failed.
