# Delete attachment.

`DELETE /candidates/attachments/{attachmentId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smartrecruiters.com`

- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-smarttoken`
  - OAuth 2
    - Authorization code: `https://www.smartrecruiters.com/identity/oauth/allow`
    - Token URL: `https://api.smartrecruiters.com/identity/oauth/token` scopes: `candidates_manage`

Delete attachment.

## Response `204`

Attachment successfully deleted

## Other responses

- `403`: with code **PERMISSION_DENIED** when you are not permitted to delete attachment.
- `404`: with code **FILE_NOT_FOUND** when attachment does not exist.
