# Archive a project

`POST /projects-api/v2/projects/{projectId}/archive`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smartling.com`

Archives a project and returns the updated project details.
Archived projects are hidden from a user's view, but can still be accessed.
Use [Unarchive a project](/#operation/unarchiveProject) to restore the project.

## Path parameters

- `projectId` string, required: Unique identifier of a Smartling project — 9 lowercase alphanumeric characters.

    - `code` 'SUCCESS', required: Indicates whether the response was successful or what error has occurred.
    - `data` object
      - `accountUid` string, required: The account’s unique identifier. This can be found in the Smartling Dashboard under Account Settings > API.
      - `archived` boolean, required: Indicator whether or not the project has been archived. Archived projects are typically hidden from a user's view, but can still be accessible
      - `projectId` string, required: Unique identifier of a Smartling project — 9 lowercase alphanumeric characters.
      - `projectName` string, required: The name of the project.
      - `projectTypeCode` string, required: Indicator for the type of the project.
      - `sourceLocaleDescription` string, required: The full name of the sourceLocaleId
      - `sourceLocaleId` string, required: Locale identifier. Either a 2-letter language code (`en`) or a language-region pair (`en-US`). The language part is always lowercase; the region part is always uppercase.
      - `targetLocales` ProjectDetailsLocaleItem[], required: The locales configured for translation for this project.
        - `description` string, required: The name of the locale.
        - `enabled` boolean, required: Boolean indicator of the locale is enabled for the project.
        - `localeId` string, required: Locale identifier. Either a 2-letter language code (`en`) or a language-region pair (`en-US`). The language part is always lowercase; the region part is always uppercase.

## Other responses

- `400`: Provided request parameters are invalid.
- `401`: Provided credentials are not valid.
- `429`: Too many simultaneous API requests.
- `500`: Unexpected error
