# Upload file

`POST /file-translations-api/v2/accounts/{accountUid}/files`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smartling.com`
- URL: `https://api.smartling.com/file-translations-api/v2/accounts/{accountUid}/files`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Upload a file to use for asynchronous tasks like language detection or machine translation. Maximum file size is 200MB.

    - `fileType` 'DOCX' | 'DOCM' | 'RTF' | 'PPTX' | 'XLSX' | 'IDML' | 'RESX' | 'PLAIN_TEXT' | 'XML' | 'HTML' | 'PRES' | 'SRT' | 'MARKDOWN' | 'DITA' | 'VTT' | 'FLARE' | 'SVG' | 'XLIFF2' | 'CSV' | 'JSON' | 'XLSX_TEMPLATE' | 'XLIFF' | 'ANDROID', required: Supported file types
  - `file` string, binary, required: The file contents to upload.

    - `code` 'SUCCESS', required: Indicates whether the response was successful or what error has occurred.

      - `fileUid` string: Unique identifier for uploaded file.

## Other responses

- `400`: Provided request parameters are invalid.
- `401`: Provided credentials are not valid.
- `429`: Too many simultaneous API requests.
- `500`: Unexpected error
