# Translate file

`POST /file-translations-api/v2/accounts/{accountUid}/files/{fileUid}/mt`

## Request

Perform translation for a previously uploaded file given a source locale and a set of target locales.

## Path parameters

- `accountUid` string, required
- `fileUid` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `sourceLocaleId` string, required: Locale identifier. Either a 2-letter language code (`en`) or a language-region pair (`en-US`). The language part is always lowercase; the region part is always uppercase.
  - `targetLocaleIds` LocaleId[], required: List of target locales that the file needs to be translated into.
  - `profileUid` string: Mt profile uid that will be used for file translation.

## Response `202`

OK

    - `code` 'ACCEPTED', required: Indicates whether the response was successful or what error has occurred.
    - `data` object
      - `mtUid` string: Unique identifier for the file mt action.

## Other responses

- `400`: Provided request parameters are invalid.
- `401`: Provided credentials are not valid.
- `429`: Too many simultaneous API requests.
- `500`: Unexpected error
