# Add a program process exception for an install

`POST /v1/installs/{installSid}/processes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smarterproctoring.com`
- URL: `https://api.smarterproctoring.com/v1/installs/{installSid}/processes`
- Auth: API key in header `token`

Creates an exception record in the program_process_exception table.<br/><br/>If processSid is provided, it will be validated to ensure it is associated with the specified program.<br/><br/>If examSid is provided, user permissions should be validated to ensure they can access the exam.

## Path parameters

- `installSid` string, required: Unique SID of the application install. Pattern: `AI` + 32 hex chars.

## Request body

- AddProcessExceptionPayload: Payload for adding a process exception
  - `programSid` string, required: Unique SID of the program. Pattern: `PM` + 32 hex chars.
  - `processSid` string: Optional SID of the program process. If provided, must be associated with the program. Pattern: `PC` + 32 hex chars.
  - `block` boolean, required: Whether to block this process for this install/exam
  - `examSid` string: Optional SID of the exam. If provided, user permissions will be validated. Pattern: `EX` + 32 hex chars.

## Response `200`

Response containing the created process exception data

- AddProcessExceptionResponse: Response containing the created process exception data
  - `sid` string, required: Unique SID of the created program process exception
  - `programSid` string, required: Program SID
  - `processSid` string, nullable: Process SID (if provided)
  - `installSid` string, required: Install SID
  - `examSid` string, nullable: Exam SID (if provided)
  - `block` boolean, required: Block flag
  - `createdDate` string, date, required: Creation timestamp
