# Create a payout account

`POST /v4/payout-accounts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.slopepay.com`
- URL: `https://api.slopepay.com/v4/payout-accounts`
- Auth: HTTP basic

Create a payout account. This is used to customize the payout for a merchant's orders

## Request body

- CreatePayoutAccountV4RequestDto
  - `name` string, required: A nickname for this bank account
  - `businessName` string: The business name associated with the bank account
  - `email` string: The email address associated with the bank account for notifications
  - `customerId` string: The customer ID associated with the bank account. Only to be used if the payout account should be associated with a customer.
  - `routingNumber` string, required: Bank routing number
  - `address` AddressSharedDto, required
    - `line1` string, required: The first line of the address
    - `line2` string
    - `city` string, required
    - `country` string, required: ISO31661 Alpha2 code for the country
    - `state` string, required: 2-letter US state abbreviation
    - `postalCode` string, required: 5-digit US postal code
  - `accountNumber` string, required: Bank account number
  - `taxId` string, required: Federal Tax ID
  - `isDefaultAccount` boolean: Whether the account is the default used for payouts. Defaults to false
  - `accountType` 'checking' | 'savings', required: Account Type
  - `externalId` string: External ID for your reference

## Response `200`

The created payout account.

  - `isDefaultAccount` boolean, required: Whether this is the default account for the merchant
