# Ask a question

`GET /ask`

Ask a question to your notes in natural language.
The scope of the notes used to answer the question is restricted to the authenticated user.
Various optional filters are available to restrict the scope of the notes even more.

## Query parameters

- `question` string, required
- `parentNoteId` string
- `assistantId` string

## Response `200`

Ok

- AnswerAndSources
  - `sources` Source[], required — Array of sources that were used to answer the question
    - `explanation` string — For super, gives explanation about the source
    - `updatedAt` union, required — Date of the last update of the note
      - string, date-time
      - string
    - `url` string, required — Url of the note
    - `title` string, required — Title of the note
    - `id` string, required — Id of the note
  - `answer` string, required — Answer to the question

## Other responses

- `401` — Invalid authentication
- `422` — Ask feature is disabled
- `429` — Ask rate limit exceeded
- `default` — Unexpected error
