# Fork a deck — create a new editable copy with the same children

`POST /v1/deck/{deck_id}/fork`

## Request

  - HTTP bearer

Create an A/B variant of a deck. The new deck has the same slide content as the source (sharing blob references — no duplication) but its own metadata, so PATCH /v1/deck/{new_id} edits don't affect the source. Free.

## Path parameters

- `deck_id` string, required

## Request body

- DeckForkRequest: POST /v1/deck/{id}/fork request body — all fields optional.
  - `name` string, nullable
  - `title` string, nullable
  - `author` string, nullable

## Response `202`

Fork queued

- unknown

## Other responses

- `400`: Source job is not a deck
- `404`: Source deck not found
- `422`: Validation Error
