# Take a recording off a series' "Ready to publish" list.

`DELETE /publishing-series/{seriesId}/ready-recordings/{sourceArtifactId}`

Takes one finished recording or video off the "Ready to publish" list for good — a voice check, a duplicate, an old take nobody will publish. The Publishing page's Remove, MCP `remove_publishing_ready_recording` and `sleeperhit publishing releases remove-ready` make the same remove. The recording itself is kept and nothing in the feed changes. Removing an episode's newest recording takes the episode off the list (an older recording never takes its place); a newer recording of it is listed again, and so is this one once its Table Read sends it to Publishing again. Answers `{ sourceArtifactId, removed: true }`. Free and naturally idempotent (removing one already removed is the same state), so no `Idempotency-Key`. A recording that is not the series' project's reads as 404.

The recording is off the ready list.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, malformed, revoked, or expired API key.
- `403`: API key is valid but lacks the scope, is blocked by IP allowlist, or the account is disabled.
- `404`: The publishing series, destination, or release does not exist or is owned by another account.
- `429`: Rate limit for this API key + IP + route family was exceeded.
- `500`: The API failed unexpectedly. Safe to retry with the same Idempotency-Key.
