# Render a finished pitch deck's PDF on demand.

`POST /pitch-decks/{jobId}/pdf`

Render the PDF of a finished deck on demand. The first PDF comes with the deck only when the create request carried `includePdf: true`; this asks for one afterwards — a deck made without it, or an earlier PDF that failed. ONLY A `complete` DECK RENDERS ONE. A queued or rendering export short-circuits instead of stacking, and a deck whose PDF is already ready is the export worker's own no-op. NOT metered and NOT confirmed. Requires `Idempotency-Key`. Scope: `story:write`.

## Response `200`

The PDF state after the request.

- PitchDeckPdf: The deck's PDF state after the request: `queued` for a new render, else the queued/rendering export already in flight, or its ready/failed state. A queued or rendering export with no job behind it stopped, and is queued again.
  - `pdfStatus` string, required: The PDF state: `queued`, `rendering`, `ready`, `failed` or `idle`.
  - `pdfFindings` string[], required: What the deck's PDF could not show, one plain sentence naming the chapter picture and the reason. NON-FATAL: the PDF still ships. Empty when every picture read.

## Other responses

- `400`: Request payload failed validation. The error message names the offending field.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, revoked, or expired API key.
- `403`: API key is valid but lacks the scope, is blocked by IP allowlist, or the account is disabled.
- `404`: The named project or source does not exist or is owned by another account.
- `429`: Rate limit for this API key + IP + route family was exceeded.
- `500`: The API failed unexpectedly. Safe to retry with the same Idempotency-Key.
