# Mint a link for a real person (or their estate) to approve pictures and videos of them.

`POST /likeness-consents/links`

## Request

Mints a 7-day, single-use browser link for the person named in `subjectName`. They open it, confirm who they are (or that they represent the estate of someone who died within the last 70 years, with the date of death and an authorization), confirm they are 18 or older and agree to the exact words; the approval is then recorded for this account. The link is the auth, so hand it to them. An agent cannot approve on anyone's behalf: the account holder approves their own likeness in the dashboard (My Library → Cast → Likeness approvals). Free.  Requires `Idempotency-Key`. Scope: `story:write`.

  - `subjectName` string, required: The person whose likeness the pictures would show, as you would name them.
  - `subjectEmail` string, email: Their email, kept with the link (optional; the page asks them for it again).

## Response `200`

The approval link.

- LikenessConsentLinkResponse: A 7-day, single-use browser link the person named (or their estate) opens to approve. The link is the auth; hand it to them.

## Other responses

- `400`: Request payload failed validation. The error message names the offending field.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, revoked, or expired API key.
- `403`: API key is valid but lacks the scope, is blocked by IP allowlist, or the account is disabled.
- `429`: Rate limit for this API key + IP + route family was exceeded.
- `500`: The API failed unexpectedly. Safe to retry with the same Idempotency-Key.
