# List your Slug conversations, newest first, by the page pane that started them or the subject they are about.

`GET /conversations`

Each conversation's `title`, the Slug pane that started it (`pane`, with `paneLabel` in the writer's words), its `projectId` and `scriptUploadId`, `messageCount`, `updatedAt` and `subject` (what it is about: a trailer, a deck, or a pane within its scope). In the app a subject has ONE long-running conversation: its Slug pane (a project's Overview, Cast, Publishing, an episode's Coverage, a trailer…) opens that one, the newest it started with messages, or starts it — never one another pane started — and offers no other; a long one keeps its context through a stored summary of its oldest turns. `subject` answers that one conversation (or none yet); older conversations about the same subject stay readable in the plain list. `pane` keeps one pane's conversations, `projectId` one project's, `scriptUploadId` one screenplay version's. Read-only. Scope: `story:read`. Free.

    - `subject` string, nullable, required: What it is about: `trailer:<trailerJobId>`, `deck:<pitchDeckJobId>`, or `pane:<pane>` with its scope (`pane:<pane>:script|project|card|opportunity:<id>`). A subject has ONE long-running conversation in the app; pass it as `?subject=` to read that one. Older conversations about the same subject (from before that rule) carry it too and stay readable here. Null when it is about no subject.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, malformed, revoked, or expired API key.
- `403`: API key is valid but lacks the scope, is blocked by IP allowlist, or the account is disabled.
- `429`: Rate limit for this API key + IP + route family was exceeded.
- `500`: The API failed unexpectedly. Safe to retry with the same Idempotency-Key.
