# Turn shows running on or off across Sleeper (admins only).

`PUT /admin/shows-running`

Shows running across Sleeper: the operator's platform-wide stop for unattended show spend. Off, no show runs on its schedule and no scheduled episode continues (one being made is held); previews and extras a creator confirms still run. Admins only; every change is audited. 403 `admin_required` unless the credential's account is an admin right now. Idempotent (`changed: false` when it already was). Scope: `account:write`. Free.

## Response `200`

- ShowsRunning: Shows running across Sleeper: the operator's platform-wide stop for unattended show spend. Off, no show runs on its schedule and no scheduled episode continues (one being made is held); previews and extras a creator confirms still run. Admins only; every change is audited.

  - `showsOn` integer, required: Shows their creators have turned on.
  - `changed` boolean

## Other responses

- `400`: Request payload failed validation. The error message names the offending field.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, revoked, or expired API key.
- `403`: API key is valid but lacks the scope, is blocked by IP allowlist, or the account is disabled.
- `429`: Rate limit for this API key + IP + route family was exceeded.
- `500`: The API failed unexpectedly. Safe to retry with the same Idempotency-Key.
