# Send an intake form

`POST /v1/intake_form_invitations`

## Request

Create an invitation and queue delivery through Slant email to an existing client or prospect household. A successful response confirms queued delivery, not inbox receipt. Returns invitation metadata only, never answers, prefilled values, or access tokens.

  - `intake_form_id` string, required: The published intake form ID
  - `household_id` string, required: The client or prospect household ID
  - `recipients` object: Recipient delivery types by household role
    - `head_of_household` 'to' | 'cc' | 'bcc' | 'none'
    - `spouse_or_partner` 'to' | 'cc' | 'bcc' | 'none'
  - `creator_copy_method` 'bcc' | 'cc' | 'none'
  - `reminder_limit` integer
  - `reminder_interval_days` integer
  - `prefill_answers` object: Optional values keyed by editable field keys from the latest published field definitions. Overrides automatic prefill for supplied fields; omitted fields keep automatic prefill. Null clears a field. Unknown keys, invalid values, files, calculations, acknowledgments, and booking controls return 422. Values are not returned.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request - malformed JSON, invalid filters, or missing required book context
- `401`: unauthorized - missing or invalid token
- `403`: Access denied. Policy and membership failures may have an empty body. A read-only personal token cannot perform writes.
- `404`: form is not available
- `422`: unprocessable entity - invalid payload
- `429`: An hourly API rate limit was exceeded. Wait Retry-After seconds before retrying.
