# Rename a contact list

`PATCH /v1/contact-lists/{contact_list_id}`

Send name only: required, at most 120 characters, no control characters, trimmed. As when a list is created, two lists may share a name. Nothing else about the list or its contacts changes.

## Response `200`

The renamed list

## Other responses

- `400`: The name is blank, too long or has control characters, or another field was sent
- `404`: No such list in this workspace
