# Cancel an outbound call before origination

`POST /v1/calls/{call_id}/cancel`

A queued call with an unclaimed originate job, or a call held for review (status needs_review), can be canceled. A queued call's wallet reservation is released; a held call never reserved anything. Once a worker has claimed the job, this endpoint fails closed rather than implying the carrier call was stopped.
