# Item - Add Barcode

`POST /item/add_barcode`

Add a barcode to an existing item.

## Request body

  - `item_id` string, required — Item ID
  - `upc` string, required — Barcode to add

## Response `200`

Barcode added

  - `success` boolean, required — Whether the operation succeeded

- `400` — Bad request
- `401` — Unauthorized
- `403` — Forbidden. Insufficient permissions.
- `429` — Too many requests. Rate limit exceeded.
- `500` — Internal server error.
