# Create a skill

`POST /api/v1/skills/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.skills-hub.ai`
- URL: `https://api.skills-hub.ai/api/v1/skills/`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Creates a new `DRAFT` skill and its first version for the authenticated caller. Authenticated. Org-scoped skills (via `orgSlug`) require org membership and are limited to `ORG`/`DEPARTMENT`/`TEAM` visibility; orgs that gate new skills queue the draft for approval.

## Response `200`

Successful response. The returned fields are described in this endpoint's summary/description; typed per-field response schemas are being added incrementally.
