# Record a skill installation

`POST /api/v1/skills/{slug}/install`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.skills-hub.ai`
- URL: `https://api.skills-hub.ai/api/v1/skills/{slug}/install`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Records an install event and increments the skill's install counter. Optionally authenticated — authenticated installs dedupe once per user, anonymous installs dedupe per IP for 24h. Enforces skill visibility and the caller's org install policy. Body accepts optional `version` and `platform`. Returns the skill `slug` and the `version` that was recorded (the requested version, or the latest published version when none was given).

## Response `200`

Successful response. The returned fields are described in this endpoint's summary/description; typed per-field response schemas are being added incrementally.
