# Fork a skill

`POST /api/v1/skills/{slug}/fork`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.skills-hub.ai`
- URL: `https://api.skills-hub.ai/api/v1/skills/{slug}/fork`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Creates a `DRAFT` copy of a published skill owned by the caller, copying its latest instructions and tags and incrementing the source's fork count. Authenticated. Cannot fork private skills or your own skill. Responds `201` with the new skill's `slug` and `id`.

## Response `200`

Successful response. The returned fields are described in this endpoint's summary/description; typed per-field response schemas are being added incrementally.
