# Add a department member

`POST /api/v1/orgs/{slug}/departments/{deptSlug}/members`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.skills-hub.ai`

- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Adds an existing organization member to the department, identified by `username`, with role `ADMIN` or `MEMBER`. Requires department admin (or org `ADMIN`). The target must already belong to the organization. Records an audit entry.

## Path parameters

- `slug` string, required
- `deptSlug` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful response. The returned fields are described in this endpoint's summary/description; typed per-field response schemas are being added incrementally.
