# Set the caller's own picture

`PUT /v1/me/avatar`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sixminute.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.sixminute.ai/v1/me/avatar`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

The body is the image itself, at most 262144 bytes, under its own `Content-Type`: png, jpeg or webp. The client scales it to 256 by 256 first. Too large is a 413; any other type (SVG and GIF among them) is a 415; an empty body, or bytes that are not the type they are declared as, is a 422. Nothing is stored on a refusal. The answer is the picture's `updated_at`, which the rows that name the person carry as `avatar.updated_at`.

## Request body `image/png`

- string, binary

## Response `200`

When the picture changed.

- object
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required

## Other responses

- `401`: No bearer token, or one that does not verify or has expired.
- `403`: The token verified but may not do this: no organisation, not provisioned, wrong role, or a device problem.
- `413`: The body is larger than this route takes.
- `415`: The body's content type is not one this route takes.
- `422`: The request is well-formed but cannot be carried out as it stands.
