# Generate a day's entries on the device the request names

`POST /v1/days/{day}/generate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sixminute.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.sixminute.ai/v1/days/{day}/generate`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Starts a Generate of that local day on the device `X-Six-Minute-Device` names (403 for a device that is not the caller's; without the header, until the follow-up, the caller's most recently active device, 400 with none), from that device's activity and the meetings, which belong to no device, over the day's start to the press (D-311; the generate-reliability plan, T2 and A2). It writes only over free time: what a live entry already holds is clipped, never refused. 202 names the run; 200 `started: false` when nothing waits (K8); 409 `generate-running` while a Generate of that day on that device runs. A press on another device while one runs is queued behind it. Two presses of one window are one run; a press after a delete is a run of its own.

## Path parameters

- `day` string, required

## Query parameters

- `shadow` '1'

## Response `200`

Nothing pending: nothing started.

- object
  - `started` false, required

## Other responses

- `202`: Started: the run.
- `400`: The body, query or path did not validate; `errors` lists the fields.
- `401`: No bearer token, or one that does not verify or has expired.
- `403`: The token verified but may not do this: no organisation, not provisioned, wrong role, or a device problem.
- `409`: The id or the email already belongs to something else.
